Christmas markets originated in the Late Middle Ages in the German-speaking part of Europe. Known as Christkindlmarkt, (pronounced “Chris-Kindle-Mart”), these street markets feature unique gifts, homemade treats, Yule-tide drinks, and holiday ambiance.
Celebrate the season with GermanFest’s inaugural Christkindlmarkt at First Lutheran Church! The festivities are presented in conjunction with the 35th Annual Old North Knoxville Victorian Holiday Home Tour. (No ticket required to attend Christkindlmarkt-admission is free.)
Cozy up with a beverage by the Feuerstelle (fire pits), shop for inspired gifts, and enjoy the lights, ambiance, and fellowship of the season. This family-friendly event can be enjoyed by all ages.

Stroll through the charming Christkindlmarkt craft village to shop for one-of-a-kind gifts and delicious treats. This year's marktplatz features handmade jewelry, unique Christmas gifts, hand-knit wearables, pottery, artwork, embroidery, food and much more.

Enjoy the Christmas “Spirits”! Toast the season with a festive craft brew or Glühwein (mulled wine), or sip a decadent hot chocolate. Tasty treats and salty snacks like roasted nuts and savory pretzels are just a few of the delightful delicacies being sold. They are guaranteed to take the chill out of the air.
